Great Video For Your I Don't Want Exercise Days! July 5, 2005 Lynn (Houston, TX) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This a great video for people who have either very little time or need a very gentle workout to prepare them for more streanous exercise. It is also very good for those who are just starting to get into shape and need to start out very slow. This is a 25 minute tape that consist of a gentle warmup, plies, arm and waist exercises, abs & buns toning exercise. This has no cardio and really is not long enough to do as an only workout for those who are in shape. For better results do this program with another tape like Jane Fondas New Workout or a walking program. P.S. If you like this workout and are ready for something along the same lines as this try THE EASY GOING WORKOUT By Jane Fonda
Best exercise video for those with health problems July 10, 2006 Jane S. Ross (Asheville, NC) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have used Jane Fonda's Start Up for well over ten years now. I have extra copies in case of breakage. I have a bad back and fibromyalgia and can only tolerate gentle to moderate exercise. This workout is perfect for me. If I find after I do it that I can do more then I move on to something more strenuous. Great for overall stretching and toning.
Back To Basics With Jane...Essential Stuff September 29, 2006 L. Shirley (fountain valley, ca United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Start Up With Jane Fonda", may be nearing 20 years old, it may make you laugh at the hair and wardrobe selections, but this 25 minute gentle workout has beaucoup benefits still. Essential for beginners, it will also be nice back to basics for those that need to regroup and start anew. I have worked out every day for years, and I still find this one to have it's rewards. It's 25 minutes of an all over light workout. Warming up your body, stretching, concentrating on isolated movements for arms, hips, buttocks and abs,and using your own resistance to help you get back in shape and slim down while you are at it.Even your back and neck will feel the benefits. There's no jumping or aerobics, nothing too complicated,no weights, just basic moves that will help you look and feel good. The stretches will help you slim down, the isolated muscle movements, and flexes will help you on your way to getting toned, stronger, you'll improve balance, and maybe a bit more flexible with each session. You will also get a very nice ab work-out that is not too strenuous. Jane Fonda is always an excellent instructor. She will guide you every step of the way. Always reminding you of proper posture, to listen to your body, breathe and go at your own pace. These are the basics, and this is helpful advice has not changed over 20 years. It's all important, to getting the most out of your workout without pushing yourself too hard, and without injury. There are both men and women in the class. The music is classic and light, and sometimes ballet like. You don't need any special equipment, not even sneakers or shoes, but you may want to use a mat, for the floor exercises(abs and legs), or at least a folded towel or blanket to cushion yourself with.At the end of the tape Jane goes over some of her other video workouts. Recommended for anyone needing to get back to basics, or anytime you need to de-stress(it's wonderful for this). Would also make a nice warm-up, or even a cool down for intermediate and advanced. Of course you should always watch a workout through before attempting, and check with your Doctor if there are any sort of physical limitations. If you see this available from a seller in grab it up, you never know when you may need it. Looks like you can practically get it for the price of the shipping right now! Remember to breathe, eat healthy, and enjoy.....Laurie
