| Synopsis:
At the end of "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," Sarah Connor vanquished the Terminator sent from the future to kill her 15-year-old son, John. Sarah and John now find themselves alone in a very dangerous, complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with the reality that still more enemies from the future and the present could attack at any moment. Sarah stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying her life -- and perhaps the world. John knows that he may be the future savior of mankind, but he is not yet ready to take on the mantle of leadership that he's told is his destiny. ""The Sarah Connor Chronicles"" represents an exciting reinvention of the Terminator franchise, in which the strong and intrepid Sarah discovers that protecting her son and stopping the rise of the machines is more difficult than she had ever imagined. |

While this show isn't yet on par with say Battlestar Galactica, it isn't bad at all. I felt the story was an interesting twist on the Movie series, with a time paradox subplot. Great looking cast, good special effects, and so far a well written show. (Luckily the episodes were already in the can before the writers went on stike.)If you hate the idea of time traveling cyborgs, this show is not for you. However if you enjoy a good sci- fi tale, I think you'll be glad you watched. By the by, I enjoyed this better the on the second viewing when I paid a bit closer attention to the sub-plots. Update 3/05/08 Arrgh! A great season ends with everything up in the air and I want more! Although there were some elements of the show that were for me a bit less than perfect, overall this was a great show when almost every show on TV was off for the strike. This show is very entertaining, I have watched each episode at least twice. I can't wait for the next season!
Starts slow, but shows potential. January 14, 2008 Jonathan Dewar (Fairbanks, Alaska) 9 out of 13 found this review helpful
For those that have watched the third Terminator movie, you'll know that there's always been a sense of "I want more!" with the franchise. The movie left us all hanging on a very cliffhanger (and somber) note and I for one have always been wanting a little more story. Of course, I couldn't have imagined they'd take it into prequel territory. The pilot starts off a little slow - Heady's voice over at the start of the episode comes off as a little unsure, possibly because she has a lot of shoe to fill from the movies. It then weaves into a very sloppy dream sequence which feels proportionately more low-budget than the rest of the sequences in the episode. Other than these two opening portions of the episode, the team behind this series has done a great job of introducing us to their concepts. Glau as a schoolgirlish Terminator sent back to protect the two runaways from the advances of other killer machines works incredibly well, while still being something you never quite expected. What's cooler is that she manages the role with her own style of dialogue - you'll see a little bit of River Tam show through which should be highly appeasing to fan's of Whedon's Firefly. Lastly, Glau's chemistry with Dekker is spot on and enjoyable, in a strange and uncomfortable kind of way. All in all, this pilot is highly recommend if you exercise a little bit of restraint and don't go in expecting to see a completely perfect hour of TV. It should also be noted that this series seems to stray from the motion picture canon a bit, so keep an open mind.
Giving it a chance January 14, 2008 Ryan (Washington) 6 out of 17 found this review helpful
All explosions and action ... no character development or depth to the story. But it's Fox, they would have required that of the premier. So ... giving it a chance. Of course if it is any good Fox will just cancel it.
Heck yes. January 16, 2008 E. Arvelo 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
Any show where a naked girl beats the frick out of a bunch of college jokers is automatically at the top of my TV list. The dialogue could be better, but the fact that the women are actually powerful means I could care less about dialogue. I just wanna see chicks kick butt.

Summer Glau - Great as Usual. FX - Top Notch for TV. Everything else is BAD. If Lena Headey can pretend to have an American accent why can't she pretend to have emotions?? Of course almost everybody was totally flat acting anyway. This terminator is only scary to baby kittens. Was this shot by a film school drop out? This show makes T3 look like an Oscar Winner. Only for DIE HARD Terminator fans.
