| Synopsis:
A New York advertising executive (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), who is about to land a big account, has his life shaken up when it becomes known that he has lied about having a college degree. After being fired, his life is further shaken by his debtors who had counted on paying after landing the account. Having to go on the run, he is called back to his southern town roots, when his great aunt dies. At the reading of the will, he learns he has been asked to assume the mantle of choir director of his great aunt's church and if he can get the choir in the Gospel Explosion in Atlanta, he will inherit stock worth $150,000. Unfortunately the choir leaves a lot to be desired and he has to start recruiting. Among others, he gets three prisoners to join. More importantly, he gets a "sinner" (Beyonce Knowles) from one of the local night clubs to join. While initially scorned and resisted, nonetheless her voice wins everyone but the hardcore church busy body. |

The Fighting Temptations DVD (Fullscreen) November 4, 2008 James C. Mcdaniel (Kuwait) This was a wonderful DVD that my whole family watched. It was funny; it had an all-star cast; overall a great movie that I would recommend to anyone to watch.
Very inspiring movie May 29, 2008 Susan Turley I loved this movie. I have already seen it five times! The singers were fantastic! This movie shows that no matter who you are or where you come from that GOD loves them all and they can be forgiven and it does not matter what color you are because it's for all people. I am getting ready to buy it because every time I rent it it costs me so I may as well purchase it and get it overwith because I already want to see it again! I recommend purchasing this movie.
Fun from beginning to end April 26, 2008 Hanford Rose (Hanford, CA USA) This is a wonderful, upbeat movie, filled with classic gospel and some modern variations for the younger generation. The acting is great; and the music is extraordinary. This is a must have movie.
Fun characters and great music March 8, 2008 Michael L. Wiersma (Springfield, MA United States) I think most of the criticism for this film is probably accurate, but it's hard to avoid being charmed by Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Beyonce`. Cuba's cnergy and enthusiasm, coupled with Beyonce`'s musical talent and beauty, cover any thinness in the story, predictability, or editing missteps. There are so many zany and charming secondary characters in this film that they are hard to keep up with, and each one adds a little depth to the film. The musical numbers are nearly transfixing. By far, they are the highlight of the film, which showcases a number of worthy talents. Also very valuable (and sadly, rare) this is a film that the whole family can watch, relate to, and enjoy. There are lots of good messages about forgiveness, acceptance, teamwork, humility, etc. that would be valuable for humankind in general. Lots of laughs, great stars, good messages, good pacing, amazing musical numbers...what's not to like? Highly recommended for the whole family.
Fun for the whole family! July 8, 2007 S. Campbell What an awesome movie! Very heartwarming and with great inspirational singing! A wonderful reminder that if you look for the good in people, you will usually find it. It may be a little easier with some than others, but you just have to take the time to care! A+++++++++++++
