Wow. Impressive. July 26, 2007 Richard W. Argo (Cedar Rapids, IA United States) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
"Wow. Impressive", is exactly what I thought the first time I used it. I was able to trim every hedge on the property with a single charge. In fact, it was tired out before the trimmer was. Positives: 1) Cuts *very* well -- much better than most corded models I've used. 2) Held the charge for the entire job. The box & instruction manual said 30 minutes, but I know I was out there far longer than that. 3) Fairly ergonomic. It is very well balanced and lightweight. The battery is positioned in the middle of the unit which helps the balancing. And the top handle is adjustable. Negatives: 1) Having to hold both levers/triggers to engage the unit. I think the main problem here is the trigger on the top handle, which isn't very ergonomic as you basically have to hold that handle at or near the top to engage it. You can sort of trigger it from the side with a couple of fingers. Regardless, you have to squeeze it fairly hard. Having to do this makes it awkward at certain angles, which in turn made my hand hurt. I think this could potentially lead to carpal tunnel syndrome for some folks. A much better solution would have been to use the same trigger mechanism as the Worx GT trimmer -- you push a button with your thumb while pulling the trigger to engage the unit. If the unit had that, it would be far more ergonomic and I would have given it 5 stars.
Was good for the 20 minutes it worked October 17, 2007 M. Tinglof (MA United States) 4 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this product thinking it would be really convenient. When I got it was fairly straight forward to assemble it. I tried it briefly and seemed to work, but was not charged. So I charged it. After what seemed like over an hour, it was not fully charged, but I figured close enough. I used it for about 20 minutes and it ran out of juice. So I put it back on the charger. The green light stayed on and wouldn't charge. I remember someone else posting it needed to be "cold" to charge so I left it unplugged for over an hour and tried again, no good. The light stayed green, got a few seconds of charge and died. I tried several times over the course of 2 days and finally gave up and sent it back to Amazon. It seemed pretty good while it lasted, but I figured if it was this faulty it was probably not high enough quality to be worth getting a replacement.
Works as presented in ads June 7, 2007 K. Reed (California) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
This hedge trimmer was as light weight as described and did a great job trimming the hedges I bought it for. It's easy to hold horizontally, and vertically.
Time Saver June 27, 2007 Josef (Bel Air, MD USA) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Great product at a great price. I also own the cordless grass edger and bought an extra battery with that so battery time is not an issue for me. Both the trimmer and edger run longer than I anticipated on each battery charge. I have a .25 acre plot which is heavily landscaped so they get a decent work out. After using the edger I didn't hesitate to buy the trimmer. No more electrical cords or gas refills to slow down the project.
Couldn't be happier!! July 9, 2007 H. Young (Wilmington, DE United States) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I can't recommend this enough. The power kind of surprised me as it cuts as well as an electric (even better, since the blades are very sharp). No more fumbling with cords, I just go where I have to go and I do everying in half the time, and he finished job looks better since I can concentrate more on the aethetics. Ditto for the weed wacker they have #WG150. They use the same battery, so you have 2 batteries if you need it, but they last longer than I thought just on one.
