Amazon.com Product Description Ideal for travelers, trade show exhibitors, and anyone else who frequently schleps boxes and other gear from place to place, the Magna Cart personal hand truck is engineered with toughness in mind. The 7-pound hand truck is made of sturdy rustproof aluminum, with a telescoping handle that extends to 39 inches tall. As a result, both tall and short users can comfortably haul up to 150 pounds at once. The 5-inch rubber wheels, meanwhile, roll smoothly on virtually any surface, from pavement to trim carpet to linoleum. Best of all, the truck folds up compactly for storage or carrying, with a footprint of only 25 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The hand truck's narrow profile makes it ideal for carrying on planes (it fits easily in overhead compartments), trains, and cars, and when you're not using it, simply hang it on a peg in the garage or stow it next to the fridge.

The Magna Cart Personal Hand Cart from Welcom Products September 8, 2006 John J. Evanthes 44 out of 48 found this review helpful
Full disclosure: I am John Evanthes, equity partner at Welcom Products, and significantly helped in the design of this Magna Cart. So, no surprise, it gets 5 Stars from me...but let me tell you why without trying to sound too salesman-ish (which is, actually, what I am by profession) Our company was well known for our proprietery line of WearEver Backpack Chairs (this division has now been sold)...which Amazon had done well with for some time. Based on the excellent selling results and strong feedback from you all on it's quality, they took my advice and tried the Magna Cart. At the time I write this, it is among Amazon's top sellers - so we done did good ;>) We have fairly quietly sold many thousands of our original Magna Carts to outlets nationwide, but designed the MCX - Magna Cart to be priced less, and be more convenient to use. It took approximately 3 years to get the product mix just right, but I think we have achieved our stated goals. It's light....aluminum constructions throughout keeps it to 7 lbs. It's highly maneuverable....15" width and nearly 5" rubber wheels, combined with 7 lb weight make for effortless use It's compact....2" thin and 25" tall is all the space it will take up. A nail in your close or any space in your trunk is all you need to store it. It's useful...it extends to a bit over 39" and has a recessed handle for large boxes that might otherwise pin your hand down during use It's got a good payload....150 lbs is what we have designed it for. If you plan to haul a refrigerator or transmission - go buy a heavy duty industrial cart. But, for near every conceivable need around your home or office, 150 lbs is more than sufficient. For many manufacturers of carts it's a numbers game....a 10 gallon bottle of water is 80 lbs, a typical house plant you bring inside for the winter may be 50, a couple reams of paper about 50 lbs, a full 12 qt cooler with ice and your favorite libation might be 60 lbs. For the vast majority of instances, you simply don't need more than 150 lbs....it's plenty good enough. The plate or shovel is another area that we get inquiries about. It looks too small to pick a lot up. Well, that plate is about 16" from back to front. If it was only 2" long it would still be useful as all you need to do is get up underneath the item and tilt the handle back and let gravity do it's job. So, don't buy carts out there for 3x what Amazon is selling this for merely because they are 200 lb payloads, a few inches wider (LESS wide means greater maneuverability and less overall weight to lug around)or a taller plate. You are paying for extra features and 'horsepower' you will likely not need...and be lugging around a heavier, less ergonomic and more costly cart instead. This cart is far better than any traditional luggage cart in near every dimension and betters far more costly 'superlight' hand trucks that we have seen in the marketplace. All of us at Welcom Products are pretty certain that if you have taken the time to read about this cart here, actually contemplate a purchase of one or more...you will actually be far more pleased with it when it arrives at your doorstep than even you imagined. We sell every one with a great measure of pride and use this products ourselves (remember we are salesman transporting heavy samples of carts and chairs to buyers worldwide now)nearly every day in a variety of ways. Thanks for your time and attention. John Evanthes Welcom Products
We have one and love it! September 8, 2006 Deanna (Golden Triangle (South Texas)) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I actually bought this on Ebay, but am about to buy a second one here because it's cheaper on Amazon! This is a fabulous little dolly. It's not really just a luggage cart..everyone has wheeled luggage these days anyway. We use it in our warehouse to haul 70 pound boxes around and it fits into the car easily so that when it's time to drop off a mountain of boxes at the PO or haul home the things I order on Amazon (grin), it's right there. Getting a second one so that we can keep one at home, too. We tried other folding carts and they couldn't handle the weights we were putting on them. This one is great and the price can't be beat. Don't try this at home, kids, but I was able to lift my 175 pound hubby off the floor and wheel him around on it..it's one tough little dolly.
Excellent price for a light duty handcart September 27, 2006 M. Montgomery (Frederick, MD USA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I just recieved my Manga Card Personal Hand Truck today, so I have given it only a little testing. Out of the box: It looks great and feels well crafted. Operating it is easy, you can unfold, refold it, extend and retract the handle all with one hand (and one foot). When ordering I was concerned about the handle hight (39") since I am 6'4". But rolling it around feels perfect! However when going up and down stairs, I do have to stoop over a tad. The metal rails for the handle that slide into each other have a lite coating of oil on them, so just don't grab them. Use: It is easy to tip loads back and start wheeling. However one thing I noticed is that when you tip the cart back, the load does not balance on wheels like a regular full size handtruck. Rather the load is in front of the wheels, therefore you must press down on the handle to keep the cart from standing it self upright. To balance the load you must have the handle near horizontal to the floor. I bought this hand truck to use for my small business (onsite computer services), so I will only carry lite weight. It is perfect for this duty and a great price. Plus it folds up quickly and takes up little space in my truck. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because for heavier loads, you must balance it by constantly pressing down on the handle.
Great Travel Cart February 18, 2007 Cristobal Samaniego (Ann Arbor, MI 48103) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
This cart is great for the purpose I bought it. It is very strong, yet it collapses nicely, occupying little space. It is extremely easy to use since it basically collapses almost by itself. You just have to lift the front, and the wheels collapse. The price is also great, especially compared to the competition which is about twice as high. I paid $29 for this one on special. You cannot beat that. I recommend it based on my very positive experience with it.
Great little hand truck. Will buy again. August 27, 2007 H. Wang (San Jose, CA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I organized all my camping stuffs in several 12-gallon size storage containers. I use this handy truck to transfer those storage containers from car to the tent site. Initiallzy, I was worried if the wheel is too small for outside unpaved roads. But it turns out just fine. The whole construction of this hand truck is solid. Especially, the flat side on the bottom for carrying loads is long enough (not the width) to ensure stable rolling on unpaved roads around camping side. It works great for moving things around. Very good value for this low price. Definitely a good product that I will buy again and I will recommend to my friends.
