Product Description Strait-Line Rolling Tape, Is A Quick Measuring Tool That Automatically Divides & Marks Surfaces, Rolling Tape Features A 1/6" Resolution For Accuracy, An Interactive, Easy To Use LCD Screen & Auto-Marking Tool, Rolling Tape Is Menu Driven With Intuitive Function Selections For Units, Memory & Mode.
Amazon.com It takes quite an innovation to make us dance in the warehouse aisles. But we're dancing. And measuring everything in sight, while we're at it. Strait-Line's incredible Rolling Tape measures, calculates and even tells you where to hang your pictures. We want to emphasize here that this gadget actually does the math for you. Say you're ready to install a chair rail in the kitchen. You have two choices: You can get out your tape measure, pencil and paper and measure, add, check your math, fix your mistake, then measure and add some morethat is, if you can wrangle the tape by yourself. Your other (and far more attractive) option is to press the Rolling Tape to the wall and push the button. Do the same thing on each surface, then read the total on the big, clear screen and buy that length of molding. Want to hang five pictures evenly on a 22-foot wall? Just tell Rolling Tape how many pictures, roll, hammer and hang. It even has a little dimpler to mark the spots as it determines them. Incredible. Our only complaint: It ought to come with the batteries.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Not a math major November 22, 2004 Tom Northcott (Wentzville, MO) 64 out of 67 found this review helpful
My wife collects plates and after half of a day trying to hang 13 plates equally seperated around the kitchen, I broke down and bought one of these. What a life saver. All I did was roll it over the wall then told it how many plates I had and rolled it back. It beeped at each interval, and if I passed it up, an arrow popped up and told me which way to go. It even has a built in dimpler to mark each spot! This thing is awesome.
Great device January 26, 2005 M. Hemelgarn (IN USA) 27 out of 27 found this review helpful
Needed to find the center of a bedroom ceiling to install a overhead light. Since I live alone, I had no one to help me hold a regular tape measure to the ceiling. So I investigate other measuring device options and found the Strait-line 300 rolling tape to be a good choice. Works great. Got the job done in less than five minutes. Tip - Save yourself some bucks, this device can be found at Home Depot for $20 dollars.
DIYer's Early Christmas Present December 4, 2004 Melissa A. Campbell 18 out of 21 found this review helpful
I will have limited use for a tape measure around the house thanks to my new rolling tape, especially when you have multiple items you want evenly spaced. The product allowed me to do the layout and measurements by myself and best of all it calculates the math!
You can get it much cheaper January 3, 2005 Sharon (Bucks County, Pa) 17 out of 22 found this review helpful
This is a great product! The commercials are correct! But.. I ordered this from Amazon, then saw it at Home Depot for $19. That is a significant difference. Amazon only has a low price +10% if you have not already purchased it from Amazon.
No one star rating here January 25, 2006 James Trumper 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
For the person who rated this a 1 star i would suggest you pay attention. I went to the Christmas Tree Shop to pick this "Exact Same unit" as you said in your review. Turns out it is laser measurement device but very severly short of features and accuracy compared to the unit in review here. It is only good to 1/2" compared to the 1/16" of this unit. You caused me to waste a trip. I ordered from Amazon the same day and the unit is awesome.
