Product Description Wall mountable / Adjustable tilt head / Multiple speed settings / Oscillation wide area coverage / Black
Amazon.com Review Hot time, summer in the city--there's nothing like a powerful fan to keep you cool and collected despite the heat. The Blizzard oscillating fan from Holmes features three speed settings and a hard-working Blizzaire motor to ensure you have the temperature control to keep your wits about you. The fan head features a swirling grill design, adjustable for complete control over the tilt angle, and can oscillate from any position. The fan has a solid, wide base for tabletop or desk use (just don't place it too close to your computer monitor--it will make your display flicker), and we especially appreciate the handle built into the base for easy moving or storage. If your tabletop real estate is at a premium, the fan is easy to mount on a wall, although the mounting hardware is not included. Crafted from durable slate-gray poly, the fan has a three-year limited warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

Running strong. November 25, 2002 Rheumor (New Orelans) 25 out of 27 found this review helpful
This little fan runs great and really moves a lot of air with very little noise. I have had it in my office for a couple of years and often enough it has been left on over a weekend or holiday without any apparent harm. For the price, I don't think you can do any better.
excellent April 17, 2003 T. Reinhardt (east coast) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
I have had 2 of these fans in my son's room for more than a year. He has a stuffy room with no cross ventilation and these fans help quite a bit. I am sure I could make do with just one of them, but having to two on opposite sides of his room makes sleeping more comfortable. The house has air conditioning but some of the rooms arent as cool as others or are just stuffy. A fan really helps cool off the room and move the AC around the house more efficiently. On days that are not quite warm enough to turn on the AC these fans really make sleeping bearable. I have them set at opposite sides of the room but I keep meaning to wall mount them. An excellent feature! There is some fan noise but truthfully, it drowns out noise coming from outside his room and I think the *white-noise* quality of it helps him sleep. The loudness of the noise is based on the fan setting. For the price...this is a great fan. And the size is perffect for small rooms. Add that you can wall mount it and you have an excellent product.
Yes, it is really loud! March 15, 2007 Kenneth Simon (Los Angeles, CA USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I can attest to what many of the other reviewers are saying: at its lowest setting, this fan is very loud! I suppose you can think of it as white noise, but it's almost loud enough to go beyond that. If you turn the fan up to medium or high, it gets even louder, but really, I don't see any reason to go above the already-powerful low setting in an office or home office setting. One or two other reviewers have stated that the fan is quiet. Perhaps there is a quality control issue and it depends on the individual fan you end up with. On the plus side, the fan really does get the air moving. It has a three-year warranty, which is better than a lot of the cheaper or "no-name" fans. I'm keeping this fan. I wonder if it will last 18 years, like the one it's replacing. Remember to check back in 2025 and I will let you know!
too loud? not close... April 21, 2003 Richard P. Egan (brooklyn, ny United States) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
i bought this fan after reading several reviews, hoping for the loudest fan i could find. i live in a loud part of nyc, and need a loud fan to sleep. plus, i just like loud fans. the reviewers all said it was too loud, but great besides. i just got it, and it is quiet as a mouse (i would know, we have mice too.) i might stick a baseball card in it or something. really powerful and great otherwise. i never thought i would seriously review a fan
Fantastic April 15, 2004 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought the latest model, which has a thermostat in it's base. It has an electronic, single push-button thermostat that can be set at 60, 65, 70, 75, or 80 room temp. Has green lights under each temp setting, and red lights for high and low. Thermostat is very accurate! You can use low speed with thermostat, high speed with thermostat, or just low and high speed always on. This fan is small, un-obtrusive, and has oscillation and tilt. I have used this fan for 2 nights now, and it's great for the bedroom. You select your temp, set it on low, and forget it. If your room falls below temp selected, it turns off. If it warms up again, it comes back on! Moves lots of air on low! High speed is not for sleeping! Quite a bit of wind sound on high. Low speed will cool a 14' x 16' living room. Fan is quiet on low speed.
