Product Description 9.6V, 3-3/8" Cordless Circular Saw, Cuts 33' Of 15/32" Plywood On A Single Charge, Tilting Base For Bevel Cutting Up To 45 Degrees, Adjustable Cutting Depth, Blade Lock For Easy Blade Replacement, Comfortable Non-Slip Grip For Better Control, Includes Battery, Charger, Combination Blade & Hex Wrench.
Amazon.com Review Versatile, lightweight, and super-compact, this 3-3/8-inch cordless circular saw is the perfect cordless tool for cutting tasks too big for the handsaw yet too small for a standard circular saw. Great for cutting sheets, trim, rows of dowels, flooring, you name it, this saw handles anything from remodeling in tight quarters to trimming down material for craftwork. The kit includes the battery and charger so you're up and running out of the box. The saw features a tilting base for bevel cutting up to 45 degrees. A no-load speed of 1,000 rpm's means this handy little 3-3/8-inch saw gets the cutting done quickly. The saw is just over a foot long and weighs just 4 pounds for easy handling in tight quarters and at awkward angles. An adjustable cutting depth to 55/65 inches at 90 degrees and 45/64 inches at 45 degrees lets you take on a wide variety of tasks. A blade lock prevents slippage and offers faster blade changes. A comfortable, non-slip grip ensures better control. And, with the optional diamond wheel and water supply kit (sold separately), this saw cuts tile and glass. Your purchase includes the combination blade, hex wrench, battery, and charger. --Brian D. Olson Applications: Light remodeling, crafts, cutting sheets, trim, rows of dowels, flooring. What's in the Box 9.6V Battery 9000 (632007-4), charger DC9700 (113103-2), combination blade (721003-8), hex wrench (783202-0)

More valuable than you could imagine September 22, 2002 M. Larsen (Vernon Hills, IL USA) 68 out of 68 found this review helpful
I originally bought this for one special use: to cut drywall once it was on the wall. I never intended to use it for anything else. After some experimenting with it, I use this tool more often for more tough wood cuts than any other tool I have. It can cut 3/4" hardwood plywood cleanly and easily without shredding the edges, and if you need to make an angle cut into plywood, it does it cleanly and easily. This also makes incredible cuts in 3/4", 1/2", and 3/8" hardwood flooring and 3/8" Pergo. It's front sight-guide is perfectly aligned to the blade, so if you draw a line on the wood first, this will cut perfectly in the center of the line. The thin blades are the exact width of the line drawn by a normal construction pencil. If you are going to do a lot of cuts in a day (150+ feet), you will want a second battery handy. For blades, if you can't find 3 3/8 blades, you can use 3 1/2 blades with no problem (most hardware stores carry some nice ones for as little as [amount]). I have a table saw, sliding compound mitre saw, jigsaw, and many other kinds of saws, but I use this one more than any other. All of my friends have now after I brought this to their house to use (since it is so small, portable, and ultralight).
Wonderful little saw November 3, 2006 G. Martin (Sacramento, CA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am a woman who is 4'11" and in my fifties, I couldn't see myself with a regular circular saw, they were all too heavy and scary. I used this to cut large sheets of 1/4" plywood into perfectly cut sub-floor pieces for my bathroom all by myself. It worked fantastically. Now I feel like I can make anything and do my own home repairs!
Great little saw July 15, 2006 Hiroshi Takahashi (Vancouver Canada) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is the third one of these I have bought over 20 years. They are great! I do abuse mine alot, but I still go back to buying the same saw. It is small, convenient. One thing is to get the carbide blade for it, they seem to last alot longer.
Handles great, slightly underpowered. February 20, 2006 J. L RUTZKY (Woodside, California) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a great tool to have around for those last minute cuts, cutouts, and trimming that you don't want to lug around a large or heavy saw that needs to be plugged in. It's amazing how time conscious and lazy I've gotten. The price is great but it's underpowered. The newer version uses the common 14.4v batteries for Makita but the larger (and heavier) batteries give the saw a different feel in the hand and balance. It is also $75 more. A little of this, a little less of that.
Broken out of the box. Craftsman better. December 13, 2007 Robert J. Kahlke (Milwaukie, Oregon United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
When I received this, I first noticed that the blade guard was very sticky. It certainly would not have safely moved out of the way if I were to push the saw through wood. The handle on the blade guard is made out of thin sheet metal, so when I tried to use the handle to move the guard, the handle bent very easily. I was already discouraged, but I fired it up, and the blade rotated so slowly, I decided to send the whole thing back. Instead I bought a Craftsman #10872. This is a saw that is similar to the Makita, but it runs off AC, and rotates at 2800 RPM. It is very well put together, and includes a case, laser sight, work light, and carbide blade for $110.
