Looks like a toy, works like a John Deer. April 17, 2008 Patricia Ann Ingram (Panama City Fl) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My Dad bought one for me in April 2001 and I have never had a single problem with it. I have back problems but I can lift this little mower and put it in the back of my car easily. The handle folds down and over the machine. I recently broke my blade and because it is such a small size (13") I'm having a time finding a replacement, so if you get one it would be worth while to try and get an extra blade at the same time. My PUP is going to be with me for a very long time even if I have to have a new blade specially made. I Love It!
Plastic Toy Lawn Mower April 29, 2008 Richard E. Erickson (Santa Barbara,CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Item arrived with a broken grass catcher. Amazon said "Send it back, as the the parts were no longer available". I called the manufacturer and they sent me a new catcher. Attaching the catcher is maddening. Finally wired it on. I only have 300 sq.ft. of lawn so I will make do. For the price, it should be a heck of a lot better machine.
New Pup bad points May 19, 2008 Rona Taylor 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought a pup 5 years ago & it was/is a great mower, however, after 5 years the plastic body crystalized & the height adjustment tabs broke off for no reason, therefore, I had to buy a new one. The complaint with the new one is l. The way you attached the handlebar, now the bar can't swivel upward to remove the catcher like the old one did. Now it's harder to remove the catcher. 2. When you extended the handlebar with the flat portion, it made the mower harder to handle (than the straight angled bars on the old one) & harder to hang onto while pushing, therefore, took off your flat portion & put on my old angled handlebar so NOW IT CONTROLS A LOT BETTER.
I Finally Have One! May 23, 2008 Leona A. Joline (Philadelphia, PA.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been waiting for a long time for one of these; they're usually out of stock where I was looking. I have a very narrow space in my basement between my heater and my dryer and was lugging a folded 53 lb. lawnmower sideways from back to front and vice versa. I am so happy to have one of these and it works great. I also have a steep hill and it's no problem at all and was much easier than I thought it would be. The wheels can be adjusted by a bar that snaps into place underneath it. I raise the catcher all the way up to reattach it and line up the grooves with the bottom and it has become fairly simple to reattach. The first thing I looked for was blade replacement and there is a special number for reordering the 13 inch blade. It certainly is a back-saver.
Love my pup! July 3, 2008 J. TODD (Dallas, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've never mowed a lawn in my life, always hired someone to do that but now that I live in a zero lot line home with just a small grassy area out back I thought I'd like to handle the mowing myself. I checked out all kinds of mowers and was really hesitant about this purchase. I received my LawnPup just 3 days after ordering with free shipping! So this started out good and continued. The lawnmower was super easy to put together and the mowing was a breeze even though my yard is sloped. I had the machine put together and the yard mowed all in about 45 minutes! This machine is so light weight and takes up so little space it fits in my 1 car garage along with my car. I almost wish the grass would grow faster so I could mow more often...
