Overpriced and poorly designed October 17, 2007 busapp (Berkeley) 47 out of 49 found this review helpful
I was very disappointed with this high priced kids trampoline. Previously I purchased an adult round trampoline for less than half the price. This trampoline did not have the handle bar. My todder son, age 2.5, enjoys the trampoline so much, I thought I would get the higher priced model. To my surprise, the higher priced model is not as high a quality as the lower priced adult trampolines. The most important problem is that this trampoline uses a bungy cord to wrap around the inner mat, and not springs. Springs work MUCH better. The bungy cord moves and adjusts, and does not give a good spring action. The handle bar is on one side of the device, and when the child jumps, the other side tends to raise up and when it goes down it pounds on the floor. This can ruin a wood floor, and it can cause a loud sound throughout the house. The frame is very light, and does not appear to be a durable as other frames. Overall, the design looks good, but it is not functional. The manufacturer needs a new design that eliminates the above problems and which uses springs. Perhaps the bar should be centered more, and perhaps some mechanism should be in place for putting a weight on the side opposite the bar to prevent this side from going up and down. Finally, when the trampoline goes up and down, this is dangerous, and the child could topple it over, and hurt himself.
Love it, for the most part October 19, 2005 Lucy R. Ford (Philadelphia, PA) 46 out of 46 found this review helpful
Our 2-year old loves this trampoline, jumping on it for quite some time every day, and lying on it to watch TV! It took a while to get it put together, but it won't fall apart any time soon! My only criticism is that it is too light. My husband is going to have to find a way to weight the legs this weekend. My son only weighs 26 pounds (and this is rated to 60) and has already almost tipped it over when jumping vigorously, particularly when holding onto the handle, as it unbalances it. Other than that, he loves it, and it should last a while.
Great value for the money October 6, 2005 K. mcgrath 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
This trampoline is a great product , I live in NEW YORK CITY , an the ability to fold the legs and handle - can make it very goood for compact storage. It is the only one on the market that carries the ASTM safety approval .....iT WILL ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO EXERCISE AND KEEP FIT. You and your child will have hours of energetic play together.
Fun, but check the cord often!!!!! September 14, 2007 Tara Brooks (Vermont) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought this for my two daughter (3&5) last year for Christmas. We have used it almost every day. Epecially over those long Vermont winter when we could not go outside. This trampoline had held up well until today when my daughter was jumping and went right to the floor because the elastic bungy that holds the whole thing together broke. Galt sells replacement on their website for $20. I am glad that my daughter didn't get hurt and I will make sure to check the new bungy often.
Son loved it but..... April 16, 2007 N. Hawkins (Stafford, VA USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Bought the trampoline for my sons b-day. It came in rather quickly and he loved it. I loved the fact the his feet didn't get stuck in the cords. He was happily bouncing in the play room until about 2 months later he stopped. The blue bungie cord had rubbed against something on the trampoline so much that it frayed and finaly broke. I called the Galt company and in a matter of days a replacement cord was at my door at no cost. Hooraay!! Baby boy can go back to jumping. This time I taped up all the screws thinking it must have been the screws (even though they had rounded edges). Lo and behold it is now about 2 months later and again the trampoline is in pieces in the garage because of the frayed and broken bungie cord. My son got the trampoline for his birthday in January and it is currently April and once again I have to call Galt. It's a good trampoline....when it's not in the garage.
