Brooks Fan Through & Throughh April 5, 2008 Educ8NC 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have been running in the Brooks Addiction for about 7 years and decided to try out the Adrenaline when I had a coupon for Dicks and they didn't stock the Addiction in the store. Well, I came to Amazon to buy a second pair of Adrenaline's because I love them and wanted to be able to rotate shoes for longer training runs, plus I ran on the beach in my first pair and just can't seem to get all of the sand out :). These shoes as well as the Addiction are for those with slight over-pronation. They are light and have a lot of room in the toe box so you can wiggle your toes. My foot is a little wider at the front, but not enough that I have to buy wide shoes, normally in any women's shoe I can wear a regular width. These shoes will last you for lots of miles running on paths and trails; I do run on paved, dirt, and rocky surfaces and have never had any problems. If you are looking for a good quality running shoe I highly recommend checking out the Brooks brand, they have something for all types of stances and weights. I've read a lot of negative things about the gel shoes on the market for runners so I like to stick to my Brooks knowing that my joints will be supported as I run and my stride corrected with the additional interior support in the footbed.
Wider than the typical B (medium) December 29, 2007 J. Evans (Southern Nevada) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was incorrectly fitted for this shoe at my local running store, so I can't give a very thorough review. What I can tell you to be aware of is the width: I normally wear a medium or B, and in this shoe I should've been in a narrow or A. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until I aired a few complaints at a different running store and the salesclerk had me try the narrower width. It fit like a glove, and imagine it would've been perfect. I also required a 1/2 size larger than my street shoes, but this is fairly common with running shoes. That said, there are some things I really like about this shoe: the upper is mostly mesh, which makes it nice and light for a trainer, and very breathable. Combined with Thorlo CoolMax socks, I had no sweaty feet issues, even in the summer. The shoe is also very supportive for those with mild overpronation and medium to flat arches. Toe-off felt muddy to me, probably due to the width, but the shoes had great cushioning and seemed to provide good shock absorption. They also didn't seem to require any breaking in. Ready to go out of the box, as it should be. Overall, this is certainly a shoe worth trying on. I trained for and ran a half-marathon in mine. Just be wary of the width.
Great shoes for walking as well as running September 3, 2007 GiGi 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I walk about 6 miles a day and these shoes are so comfortable for my feet. They fit like a glove, lightweight and the mesh is great in the California heat.
Great shoe, good price March 14, 2008 Megan J. Crownholm (Alaska) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love the Brooks Adrenaline because I don't feel injured after I run in them. I am in intermittent runner, I don't run far distances, but I am prone to shin splints and joint pain after just a little running. I think that Brooks makes a superior product.
Best Shoe Ever May 15, 2008 A. Barth (Texas) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this shoe. I was lucky enough to get fitted for a running shoe at a specialty store in MD(charm city run). I have been wearing the adrenaline for 3 years! I am a mild pronator and have high arches. I am also very wide in ball of my foot and narrow in the heal. The shoe is super comfortable with an awesome gel bed and the mesh on the toe box allows air in while you run. This is great on a hot day if you are wearing tech socks because it feels like air conditioning for your toes!. The shoe seems to get better with every new version. I've run half marathons in this shoe with no rubbing or toe cramping. Best shoe ever!
