Rollerskates - good but check size May 5, 2007 Christie Kennedy (New York, USA) 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
The whole neighborhood was outside on inline & rollerskates and my 3 year old son came running inside to wear his new spiderman ones. He wears size 11 (toddler) boys shoes. The packages says good to size 12, so they should have fit without a struggle. Alas, on the biggest setting, we could not squeeze any of his size 11 (or 10.5) sneakers into them. I ended up forcing his thin water-shoes into them and as a temporary fix and he was able to wear them this way twice and I'm back on Amazon looking for a bigger pair. The set is great, the pads alone are worth the price since they are velcro and don't have to slipped on before the skates (hard to find), but the set doesn't include wrist guards or a helmet so keep those in mind to purchase separately. The wheels are nice and slow so it's a nice beginner set (the brakes look super cheap but I wouldn't let him out of reach since we're on a hill anyway), but check the size since I think a size 10 (toddler) shoe is probably the biggest you're going to be able to squeeze into them. Overall a nice set for a little beginner skater if you add wrist guards and a helmet. :)
I agree--sizing is way off. January 2, 2008 Karen K. Hart (Austin, MN United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My son was wearing a size 9 or 9/12 shoe when he picked out these skates, and it was NOT easy to jam even such a small size in on the longest skate setting--especially with an impatient two-year-old wanting to get going. The pads, on the other hand, are plenty big. They slid around, though, if they were loose enough that our kiddo wasn't complaining about how tight and uncomfortable they were. Once rolling, the skates do pretty well--the wheel setup is pretty decent for starters, I think. The wheels don't stick too much or spin at a frightening speed. Good concept--just wish we could've used it longer.
A very disappointed 4 year old December 25, 2007 Jennifer Marchesano (LENEXA, KS United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought these for my 4 year old, knowing he wouldn't be able to wear them long, but thought they would be a good beginner skate for him and then we'll get him new ones for his birthday in a few months. He wears an 11 1/2, and the shoe wouldn't even fit in his skate. We pulled out 11's, and they didn't fit with his feet in the shoes, though we could cram them in without his shoes on his feet. So, they will go back tomorrow and we'll just get him regular skates.
Buckle not working December 29, 2007 Jaymar (Lakeland, FL) I agree, the sizing is off. Regular sneakers (bulky) won't work with these...only my son's size 10 Van's fit inside the skates...barely. They are great beginner skates and I love the pads. He keeps falling out of the skates because the buckle doesn't stay buckled on one of the skates, so I am going to see if I can bring them back.
Spiderman Skates April 14, 2008 KC (Mt. Vernon, NY USA) I bought these skates for my 2year-old eventhough i know he is too young and he loves it. The skates even fit my 5 year-old who knows how to use it and shows her brother how. So i would say for the price this is a good buy because it came with protective gear.
