Nerf a Blast, but for the kiddos! November 3, 2008 Momslave (McKinney, Texas) 145 out of 151 found this review helpful
My boys, ages 5 and 6, desperately wanted this game. We have Nerf Wars at home all the time, and they were originally thinking you shot nerf darts at the tv as part of the game. We purchased the game, and they have played it for quite some time. As for the gameplay, there are boy friendly graphics and sounds. The voices that speak to you are futuristically robotic, but they do provide directions which is nice since the boys can't read them yet. You unlock Nerf weapons along the way as you score points. Each weapon shoots differently: think firing speed, power, and accuracy. There are a ton of guns to earn, and we don't have all of them yet. If you have problems passing one of the game levels, you can go back to choose a different weapon and try again. Maybe you need more firing power or better aim. There are portions where you have to shoot at only certain colored robots and miss the others, as well as a portion that resembles Boom Blox as you topple towers of blocks with your shots. Most of the time we play games as family. This one bored my husband and I pretty quickly, but the boys are still really enjoying it. I was hoping for a little more from it, especially after all the hype and coming from such a big name like Nerf. In conclusion, not a bad game, but not a house favorite. UPDATE: Many people have commented the guns are now available for individual purchase. Yeah! Good to know. Thanks!

Thanks Nintendo and Nerf for this product!! It means no more children running around the house shooting Nerf guns and breaking stuff. ...you shoot at the TV instead, but don't worry it shouldn't crack your LCD or Plasma. I personally do not play this, but got it for my nephews, and they really enjoy it, although the game gets a bit repetitive. ...this makes a great gift too, it's like buying a Nerf gun and a video game at the same time.
5 year old and Daddy love it December 14, 2008 momof2 (Indio, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We bought this for my son's 5th birthday. From the moment he opened this he was ready to play. B.O.B. the robot helper tells you everything from a brief gun description to what to do on each level, this really helps since my son cannot read just yet. My husband took over for a bit and had a blast. The gun adapter really adds to the fun and you just pull the trigger like you are really shooting, which is nice. We are going out tomorrow to pick up another gun so father and son can play together. This is a must for any boy.
nice gun December 2, 2008 thy_avatar (Maryland) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
THE GAME: The game is ok. There are many types of game to play, and many types of guns to use and unlock. The voices can get annoying after awhile. The comic book style in-game movies are done well and are neat as a style. THE GUN: The only retail store I've seen the gun by itself for sale is Toys R Us, for around $15. This is a nice gun accessory for the Wii. I use rechargable battery packs in my wii-motes which won't fit in other gun accessories-but they fit in the Nerf one just fine. The removable dart gun part is fairly easily modified to shoot further (if you have a small saw and an appropriate adhesive). I increased the range of mine about 30-50% by removing the air restrictors and sealing a couple of holes in the barrel. Bought this game for my 9 year old and he just loves it. December 26, 2008 L. Meyer 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
There is a lot of action in this game. Never boring. Keeps you playing. My 9 year old just loves it. What I like is that it is not violent like other shooting games. You are shooting at targets or robots not people. It is more a skill game.
