Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
A melting-pot of laid-back melodies, hip-hop rhythms and acoustic guitars, Shwayze's self-titled debut [Suretone/Geffen Records] pays homage to an all-day-and-into-the-night party lifestyle colored by the rolling tides of his hometown beaches, and the rolling papers that flavor the proceedings. Collaborating with Shwayze, Adler co-wrote all of the songs on the album, producing and providing backing vocals along the way.

The first single, "Buzzin'" splashes Cisco's roots-rock acoustic-guitar and vocal tapestry with Shwayze's cooler-than-a-sea-breeze hip-hop delivery. Says the rapper, "It's a new West Coast sound, it's California chill, West Coast stoner music." Case in point? "Don't Be Shy." "It's about Malibu being like an endless summer. Cisco came up with the hook and the `da-don-don, da-don-don-don't be shy' part. I came up with the verses about a couple of chicks I was into. It's about wanting summer to come back, waiting for the sun and kicking it on the beach."

4 out of 5 stars I thought this was a joke but....   August 20, 2008

I have never seen this show on MTV and when i heard the song, i thought it was some kind of joke from a cheesy reality show. I decided to try it out and it is awsome!! There is not much variety on it (all the tracks have the same vibe) but it is nice to chill to, the lyrics are cool and funny, and I think they have alot of potential. Not bad at all for what I was expecting.

2 out of 5 stars Had potential but a big dissapointment!!!   September 11, 2008

I bought this album because I had heard the track Buzzin and was like I gotta have this. When I first started to listen to the album I was like this is gonna be very good. I felt this way through like the first 4 tracks or so and then I got very bored listening to this album. The content was all the same to me. There wasn't very much creativity at all. Some of the beats sounded very similar and just sounded like the production was pretty poor. I've listened to this album a few times now all the way through and it just sounds worse every time I listen to it. I guess this is the kind of lyrics you could expect from a couple guys from Malibu. I'm not trying to bash this album because it did have potential to be something great. I know other people might like it but I just can't ignore all the flaws. If anybodies looking for a really good album that mixes hip-hop, rap, rock, and just good vibes together I would recommend Hollywood Undead from LA. Their new album is called Swan Songs and the album is awesome from start to finish.

I was really feelin the "Buzzin" and "Corona And Lime" singles, and the show was pretty hilarious, so I bought the LP the first day it came out. I had high expectations and they all were meet. The album has a great vibe and all the hooks and bridges are very cathy. The producer is also very good vocally, as he adds alot to the hooks/verses to back Shwayze up. I like there syle, its like hip-hop meets classic rock. There are not any gangster type songs on the album, which is refreshing, there are alot of smokin refrences (which I Co-Sign !! LOL) and the album just puts you in a good mood. I hope they sell good, so we can see if they can consistently make great music.

Best Tracks: "Flashlight" and "Mary jane"

When I say chill, I mean smoke a certain something. The music is so great, it flows so well, the lyrics are funny yet intellectual.
BUY IT! DO IT!

Cisco's voice is the icing on the cake.
:)
My favorite is "Buzzin", its, in my opinion, the chillest song.

BUY IT, seriously.

Ps. If you don't smoke anything, you'll still enjoy this cd, but its clear it was made for stoners!
