Good, not great August 28, 2008 John 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I purchased this to replace the newer Apple keyboard. I was impressed with the build and extra features. However I think the integrated mouse is unnecessary and the device would be much better served with a dedicated number pad. The home, end, page up and page down keys do take a little while to get comfortable with. I'm not a fan of Logitech software and I set up the keyboard without having to install anything in OS X (though I did lose access to the custom function keys). I really liked the key action of the Apple keyboard and found the DiNovo only slightly less enjoyable in that respect. Finally I absolutely love the audible feedback when the caps lock key is pressed. If you can get over the price, this is a very nice keyboard.
Excellent keyboard for home theater Mac September 6, 2008 Christopher J. Dean (Houston, TX USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
For those of you sitting on the couch while using your home theater Mac mini like me this is an excellent keyboard. The integrated touchdisc works well (vertical and horizontal scrolling is pretty cool once you get the hang of it) and is a must since using a trackball is cumbersome and a mouse is all but impossible from the couch. The touchdisc and the recharging base are main reasons I got this keyboard (manual says it will go for a month of "normal" use on one charge). Apple needs a keyboard with a multi-touch pad and charging station. Anway, the amber lighting when use the disc or pressing certain keys is nice but I wish the keyboard would be backlit. The keys are fine for home theater use (although as the other reviewer states the apple wireless keyboard feels slightly better). The programmable keys are very useful for macs like mine where you only run a small subset of apps. I really don't even need the apple remote anymore. The dedicated front row key is a nice extra as are the itunes media buttons. I found the Logitech control center to be fine and you need it for the buttons and to calibrate the touchdisc (which you will want to do). The lit audio slider is cool but since my mini is attached to the receiver using the optical-out it is of no use. The brightness keys don't seem to work on the mini either with my plasma but I never really use them anyway, it just gives me more keys to reassign. There is also a left mouse button key on the left side of the keyboard which allows you to move and scroll with the right hand and click with left which felt very natural to me (the mouse buttons under the tracking disc are kind of hard press when using the pad). I don't miss the numeric keypad since I never use one of those anyway. The only other criticisms I have are the on/off switch is a little difficult to access and move, there is no shut down computer button (there is a sleep button and you can create a simple applescript to shutdown the computer that you can then program a button for), and the shiny black surface of the keyboard shows every mark and fingerprint. So while not a perfect keyboard it is still very good for home theater use with the only major criticisms being lack of backlit keys and the price is a little steep.
diNovo Edge ROCKS! October 25, 2008 Howard Smith (Chesapeake, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Logitech 920-000924 DiNovo Edge Rechargeable Bluetooth Keyboard for Mac I ordered this from Amazon and it arrived quickly even with free standard shipping. This is the exact keyboard I needed to work with my new MacBook Pro. I've used Logitech for many years in the PC world and when I decided to try OS X, I figured I'd give this keyboard a try. The keys seem very much like my old favorite IBM ThinkPad; the spacing is perfect and the keypress has just the right feel. The very thin design, with the black and silver mix is a perfect match for the aluminum and glass laptop. I already love the TouchDisc, too. It is very handy to have that choice rather than use the mouse or reach up for the touchpad on my MacBook Pro. The other main feature is the one-touch access to most of the programs I use on a daily basis. Needless to say, I'm highly recommending this to anyone looking for a classy, efficient keyboard. I'm positive you won't be disappointed.
I Love This Keyboard October 28, 2008 P. Flood (Castro Valley, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I hunted around for a wireless Bluetooth keyboard that would work and look great with my iMac and this is the keyboard. The most remarkable thing about the keyboard is how infrequently it needs recharging. I pop it into the recharger holder stand about every two weeks for less the four hours and it has never run out out of charge. The size, weight and balance is perfect for my lap and I can store it on the iMac's stand when not in use. The media features are great but I do miss the numeric keypad that could have been in that space. If you are in the market for a solid good looking Bluetooth keyboard, this is a perfect choice.
Buy the Apple Keyboard and mouse September 13, 2008 Clyde H. Hedlund 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've been thinking about getting a Mac Mini for the past two years, since I've got a 22 inch monitor that's been begging to be hooked up to a computer. Ordering this keyboard was the excuse needed to go ahead and get the Mac Mini. Well, both the keyboard and the computer arrived at the same time, however, a mouse was still needed to get both units up and running. Fortunately, I was able to temporarily borrow a usb mouse from the pc and get everything to work right a way. So far so good, for the Mac Mini and this keyboard work like a charm. The scroll pad could be improved to have the same multi touch capabilities as the Apple Mac Pros and a keypad would help too. If this keyboard had both multitouch and keypad, I would rate it a 5 star.
