My four month old is obsessed with Sophie. She can't get enough of it. It is easy for her to hold and bring to her mouth. She just started to teeth and Sophie appears to give her some relief. She also loves the "squeak" sound it makes and is able to make it squeak all by herself. I love that it is easy to wash, small, and not cutesy or fussy. Although it is more expensive than other toys, it is worth it. I highly recommend this item.

It is so refreshing to not have to worry about letting your child put something in his/her mouth!!! With all the worries of lead paint, this product is a a great reliever! It is made in the French Alps with natural rubber and non-toxic paint which made it's selling point with me. My child loves it and the size is perfect for little hands. I recommend this product!

My 10 month old, rabidly teething daughter likes this ok. It's a bit floppy for her--she wants to gnaw on something hard or at least firm like wood, a solid stuffed animal, or her beloved silicone spatula.
The problem is that the dog thinks it is for him. Yes, Sophie is a super-safe, non-toxic, imported dog squeaky toy for babies. Not quite what I expected. It would be fine if I didn't have a dog whose breed was historical used to kill rats. He's climbed on all sort of forbidden furniture right in front of me to get to it. He's not a perfect dog but I have NEVER seen that before. I had to take this toy to Grandma's.
If you have a dog, save yourself some stress and skip this toy. It's not *that* special. Buy a wooden spoon or silicone spatula. Your baby will LOVE to chew on it, and then you can use it in the kitchen forever.

I wasn't sure how to rate this item. When I got this giraffe I felt ripped off. It seemed much smaller than in the photo. Then when I took it out of the box and squeezed it, I felt like I spent a fortune on a dog toy. It squeaks like those annoying rubber hot dogs or shoes that you buy for a dog at PetSmart.
The rubber is very thin and it smells like a rubber Halloween mask. I find it hard to believe that it's "safe" for the baby to suck on.
I gave this 4 stars because my baby likes it, which is the whole purpose in buying it. I didn't give it 5 stars because the price makes it a rip off for what it is. Maybe it's expensive because it was made in France. I don't know...
However, this is for my baby daughter. I'm not going to get her a dog toy to play with, even though if I did it would have been a higher quality than this giraffe for about 1/4 the price.
But...would you get your baby a dog toy to play with? The idea of doing that is beyond ridiculous and I can't see myself doing that.
I'm not going to say this is the greatest baby toy ever but it's slim pickings out there when trying to buy something for a 3-month old that she'll play with, chew on, and actually like. So, I guess this is worth the price tag. Just don't expect too much from it.

This is the best toy that we've received for our daughter! She plays with it all the time and its actually succeeded in entertaining her in the car. We would highly recommend it to anyone - it makes an exceptional gift!
