fresh foods and convenience November 16, 2006 SCC (Arizona) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
This is an incredibly useful product. We use it with our 7 month old, and he can feed himself fresh fruit and vegetables. Apples and pears work best. Carrots give him something to chew on, but he doesn't get very far. Bananas are his favorite, though they are the messiest and hardest to clean up--the riper the banana the easier it is to clean the mesh. The nicest part is that he feeds himself! One tip: we use a pacifier clip to keep him from throwing it on the floor.
Great product March 2, 2007 frogfeet's mom (Germany) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
We love these things! I usually keep one loaded up with a banana in the freezer for a teething day treat. We use the other one for afternoon snack. I actually want to buy a couple more packs so I can keep 2 or 3 in the freezer. Like one of the other reviewer's said, pears and apples work pretty well. In my experience, a frozen banana seems to clean off a little easier than regular banana. Some cleaning advice: You have to rinse this thing immediately after use for best cleaning results. It's not a big deal and there's no way around it, but man! This is messy fun for baby! :)
Pretty good but hard to clean July 9, 2007 Susa Bella (Germany) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I think this is a great concept but I find it very hard to clean. Banana is almost impossible to get out. All the fibers of the banana get stuck in the seams and it is so hard to get out. I ended up cutting the extra mesh around the seam hoping it would help a little. I put them in the dishwasher, use a scrub brush, etc but there's always something left. And then it gets dried up in the mesh and flakes off but is still stuck in those darn seams! Maybe I just need to use firmer fruits and veggies and leave the banana for finger food. Kind of a hassle but baby loves it and I can give her a little "appetizer" while I am getting her meals ready.
Great for introducing foods and for teething babies/toddlers November 22, 2006 Erwynn (Colorado Springs, Colorado United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
We got this for our daughter when she was 8 months old. They had just come out with this brand and it was a lot cheaper than the alternative brand. It is so simple to clean and none of the pieces come apart. The other brand you have to screw together. My daughter bangs it around everywhere and it never pops open. Whatever we're eating we can put in there and she just munches on it with no choking risk at all. And when she's teething I throw some frozen fruit in it and she loves it. It's amazing how much frozen fruit in this thing can stop the screaming of a teething baby. She has teeth now and can't chew it apart, or pull pieces of string off of it or anything; it's very sturdy. Even though she doesn't need it anymore because she eats solids with a fork and spoon now, it was extremely helpful to have and well worth the money.
not for a baby who has already started eating June 18, 2007 newmom 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
my son is 10 months old (has 1 1/2 teeth, lol) and likes to eat fruit, veges, meat, etc... he likes it when we put bits of food on his high chair tray so that he can pick them up and eat them himself. i thought this would be a great product for him but he never really took to it. he tried it once or twice and just gave it this weird look, like what is this? (even though he'll put almost anything else in his mouth) he's used to eating real food so he's probably not willing to put up with the thick netting to get to the real food. by the way, after buying this at this ridiculous price on amazon, i saw the SAME EXACT 2 PACK at target for $1.39!!!! I couldn't believe it. sometimes target just has random items for super cheap prices. since this product has such great reviews, i did get a couple for some of my friends. it seems like a good product for little ones who are just starting out on solids. so maybe for 4-6 month olds.
