Amazon.com Whether you are a car collector, weekend enthusiast or a professional detailer, Matita's 9227C circular polishers will give you the control needed to restore and keep your high-gloss finish. It will help you protect your investment by reducing the time it takes to apply cleaners, polishes, and protective products, and it will produce results far superior to applying these products by hand. This polisher is powerful enough to polish out scratches, swirls, and oxidation in the clear coat to restore the finish of your vehicle. Unlike a dual-action polisher which automatically walks across the surface, this circular polisher allows you to control the movement and focus on tough imperfections. It has an adjustable, variable speed dial to set rpm from 600 to 3000 for super slow buffing to aggressive polishing. The lock-on button allows you to use the Makita continuously at one speed. The electronic speed control maintains constant speed under load. The tool is ergonomically designed with multiple handle positions for better pressure control and less fatigue. Providing comfortable, relaxed grip options allows you to keep the polisher gliding in an easy, slow controlled sweep over the surface. It comes with a storage bag, compound and polishing pads to get you started. It is also convertible to a sander for paint removal or for your wood projects with additional Makita accessories. -- Sue Gregori Whats in the Box 9227C Polisher/Sander, Hook & Loop Pad, Hex Wrench, 21-inch tool bag, 7-inch Wool compound pad, 7-inch polishing pad

Great polisher, easy to use, plenty of power,I would highly recomend the polisher to anyone.I dont like the polishing pads that came with it(they work good but get fuzz everywhere)I planned on getting foam pads anyway. Great web site Amazon
The best available January 21, 2006 W. Lowe 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
The Makita 9227 buffer is one of the top two if not the best available. It has more than enough power and with the electronic speed control, maintains RPMs even when putting pressure on the tool if used as a sander/grinder. The handle is probably the best feature of this tool, giving you great control when buffing/polishing.
Makita 9227CX3 7" Electronic Sander-Polisher May 28, 2006 Lewis C. Reyna (Virginia Beach, VA) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Excellent tool. The polisher is easy to control once you get the hang of it. It easily, quickly, and with plenty of power applied the liquid car wax I was using. The tool felt well balanced and well behaved. The speed control is delightful to experience - maintains the same speed under load or no load conditions. The tool came with two bonnets, one to apply compound and another for final polishiing. The compounding bonnet is the only one I used since I discovered this same bonnet also polishes to a deep luster as the wax you're applying hazes over - the bonnet polishes this haze to nice deep shine. I also used a small spray bottle of water to wet small areas to help spread the wax - it worked great. I am ordering two new compounding bonnets for spares. Suggest you test out the bonnets and find out for yourself before ordering more.... I am really happy with this tool, and I feel it is well worth the money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to buy a similar tool.

I'd like to point out that although the photo of this item shows it comes with a foam polishing pad, it in fact does not include the foam pad.
Quality work with a quality product... January 19, 2007 skeeterjd (Boise, Idaho) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I use this makita to buff out my cars. For the past 3 years I was using a dual action polisher, which did a fabulous job. However, it took forever to do one body panel, and if any paint imperfection was deeper than a swirl, it had a difficult time removing it. The makita is fast, durable, and very well made. Knowing that a rotary can easily ruin your cars finish I went at it very slow to begin with. The variable speed clutch allows you to slowly start spinning the head when you start as opposed to the machine ramping up to 1500 rpm right away. The bale handle makes for easy operation, and the entire unit weighed less than I had initially thought. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. The storage bag is top notch as well. I came away very happy with the entire process, from order, to shipping and handling, it all went very smooth.
